Standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes. The number of therapy sessions varies depending on your concerns and goals.Psychological assessments typically involve several hours of clinical work completed across one or more appointments, including interview, testing or questionnaires, report preparation, and feedback. You can contact the practice directly to book therapy or a psychological assessment. A referral is not required, although referrals from physicians and other healthcare professionals are welcome.
A psychological assessment is a structured process used to better understand mental health, attention, functioning, or the psychological impact of health-related concerns. An assessment may help clarify what is contributing to current difficulties, whether a diagnosis may be appropriate, and what type of treatment or support may be most helpful. It can also provide documentation and recommendations for a family doctor, another healthcare provider, workplace accommodations, or return-to-work planning when appropriate.
Mental Health assessments may focus on mental health concerns such as mood, anxiety, adjustment, and attention.Health focused assessments focus on the psychological impact of chronic pain, cancer, chronic illness, or coping with a medical diagnosis or treatment.
The process typically includes a detailed clinical interview, relevant questionnaires or standardized psychological measures, and review of additional information or records when appropriate. Findings are summarized in a written psychological report and include individualized recommendations. A feedback session is also provided to review the results and discuss next steps.
Assessments focus on adult mental health and the psychological impact of health conditions, pain, illness, and medical treatment. They are designed to support diagnostic clarification, treatment planning, and individualized recommendations. These assessments do not include psychoeducational, learning-disability, neuropsychological, or medical/physical assessments. They do not provide medical advice, medical diagnoses, opinions regarding medical prognosis, or assessments of physical capacity. Formal independent medical, legal, disability, or fitness-for-duty evaluations are also not offered unless specifically discussed and agreed upon in advance.
